Just got offered a full time job at the place im interning at, halfbrick studios, in Brisbane.
http://www.halfbrick.com/
I start full time in a few weeks.
They mostly do handheld games, but its an awesome place to work at, and the projects have a short turn around time meaning there is alot of variety to the work. Also i get to do some pixel art, which is indeed a rarety nowadays.
Its not technically my first game job, but the first place i worked at was so bad that i dont think it counts as industry
.

And what the hell's goin on? Two new job threads in one day? Absurd.
gratz man, well deserved. Hope you get to make some really cool stuff over there
Yeah i know i am really fortunate, the industry here is hurting. Hell even today i heard that krome has just let 50 go from the local studio, and more from the other 2 studios down south.
Halfbrick is a cool studio to work at. Every second friday the company breaks off into small groups and works on small experimental projects to help generate new ip within the company. Amazingly enough as an intern they let me pitch my own idea a few weeks back and i got a team together for this round. The rounds go for 10 weeks .
Anyone is allowed to pitch then people choose who they want to help make their game even qa participates.
How long were u an intern there?
Um i was here about 2 months before . It was a 3 month internship.
that explains a few things :P
so is interning the way to go now?
I should probably say i'm willing to do unpaid interning in my emails from now on :shifty:
Happy for you!
