Long Live the Dead

I'm the silly guitar player with the long hair. While all of us except the drummer have been playing together on and off for years we only really started getting serious about this a few months ago. Played quite a few shows here in Portland over the last few months.

Let us know what you think about the music and Check out our facebook page to see any shows we have planned if you live in the Portland, OR area.

sorry, facebook links dont embed apparently :(

nice mule,,i've only got to play one gig live with my old band back in fl. i've been doin a lot more music lately, but its just me an sometimes justin, so not much chance of a live show

neat seeing vids but do you have some studio or semi studio mp3s to get a better feeling of the sound, live recordings rarely show off the music i didnt know you were in oregon, i used to be there, actualy had a gf in beaverton.

Unfortunately we dont have any good non live recordings yet. One guy did see us at one of our recent shows and wanted to help us produce a demo. He worked at one of the largest recording studios in portland. was going to be $400 for an 8 hour day of recording. not too shabby but still expensive for us. we sometimes struggle to have enough money for the gas necessary to get to our shows. I'm excited cause we are going to be playing at the Hawthorne Theatre here soon. One of the larger venues in portland.

Gonna be bringing my comp over to band practice next weekend to throw down some better recordings. Got a nice little 8 input recording interface and Propellerhead's new Record software. Hopefully 8 inputs is enough to record some decent stuff at our next practice.

really like your stiff Rhinokey, Hard to find good punk these days. Your definatly better than most of the bands we have played with recently....some of them are just god awful

if you have a decent pc you can put together a rocking home studio for about 2k (maybe a bit more) which seems like enough,, but hey... its permenant, and lasts much longer than 2k - 3k would get you in a studio. seems like you already under way with the input, what brand is it? i'm using a presonus firestudio project 8 port, its nice but can have fights with some hardwares, i'm also using cubase 4 which i really like. i think the hardest part for you would be getting a place you can set up as a studio, need good dampening if you are goina record drums by mic (i use midi drums and ezdrummer. ) and good mics. and you are set.

I've actually got the FIrestudio project as well. I've never run into any kind of hardware or software issues with it. We have quite a few mics too, shure 57, 57 beta, 58 and my roommate (the vocolist) has a really nice tube condenser mic, not sure on the brand. Our drummer has a full set of drum mics too. Our drummer even has a set of drum mics. You are definatly right though. Finding the space to do it is definatly going to be the hardest part.

If miking the drums turns out bad I might even just record him playing drums and then use it as a base to program midi drums. I've got reason drum kits and those are pretty much the best midi drums i've ever heard.

you could shell out about 1200 for a digital drum set and use it to drive the midis so you . i was doin that for a while till i realized i'm not much of a drummer an just rather program them in. i'm usin ezdrummer now, sounds great to me.

Man... makes me crazy happy to see we have a good / talented crowd of musicians here on Polycount, maybe we should start some sort of thread to help pimp PC member's bands?

man_O_Mule - hey man, just listening to the first track (come back home) I realllly dig the guitar riffs, really catchy, defiantly has me interested in hearing more (and I will... once this song is done).

    Awesome stuff!
