We've set this up for a few reasons. Primarily to communicate with the community in a more informal manner. Contest announcements, staff updates, give-aways, etc. etc. Secondly, it's a great way for us to talk to you guys if the server ever goes down - which it will!

We're going to start private testing Polycount.com some time in the first week over November which means the launch of the new site is only a few weeks away. During this transition we're going to have some planned down-time.
So if you're a Twitter user - follow-us! You might even gain access to the private testing of the new site :poly121:

What the chickens is all that twitter hype about? That service (as far as I can seem to grasp it) does not make any sense to me at all. To me it is at best... I don't know, useless?
Is there some hip shit that I don't get or am I really overlooking something about twitter? Can anyone please explain it to me?

I was following Buy.com for the same reason (to get tweets on their deals). Then the woman in charge of their twitter notices decided to put her own personal tweets on there to. They seemed to really missed the purpose

Forum's gonna be pwnt at one point or another and this is a way for them to keep contact and spread the news to us. As he said in the first post.
Think of it as an emergency broadcast service.
Twitter search tool is also a great way to see what people think about certain product or software.
