So i have this problem with my texture i use the sliders under blending options to break up the texture above the one under. problem is that i want to mask the remaining viewable texture for spec purposes but well this doesnt work as it reads the whole image and i cant get a clean background so that i can easily mask it out, because the texture depends on the texture under to look like it looks.
Can't you do it in two steps? Paint your mask and apply it to the layer and then blend it. Keep a copy of the original without the mask effect applied to it.
