When it came to thinking about ideas and concepts for End Game levels, the generation of games that are held to our hearts near and dear are the 18-bit era games on the SNES and Genesis. With that in mind we started looking through old levels of some of our favorite games for inspiration. We came across the Ocean Palace and Black Omen dungeons from Chrono Trigger.
We took the visual ideas the Mammon Machine and played with the thought of what might happen to Zeal and the Ocean Palace after they were destroyed. Finally we have finalized our own decision to incorporate more of a real world base to it. Here is our current base concept block out:
We'll be updating very shortly!

No worries, we are constructing pieces that are very different from the one you mentioned. Art direction and environment itself will be far different from that one
Zbrushed foreground element. Haven't built the low poly yet, but will real soon.
That's a pretty sick wall piece benno....color that shit already!
I'm definitely liking the concept too.
Sadly, my hard drive is partially fried and I'm in the process of retrieving all my files.
These files include the finished textured broken wall piece! Hopefully I'll be able to upload those very soon.
In the mean time, using one of my school's computer I whipped up a quick zbrush of a street pole! Once I'm up and running again I'll finish the texturing on this!
Finally situated with my new system, after my old one crashed and burned....I can finally put up this asset. Still needs a little more work in the normal to get that concrete feel. I'm not completely satisfied with the bricks either, but here it is!
