I remember this tool being posted here a long time ago(about 2-3 years ago). It was basically a program that could read the data that was being sent to your graphics card, and 'hack' that data to export models.
You could basically use the tool to rip 3d models out of games. I believe in the specific thread it had an example of a WoW player character that was exported with it.
I cant remember the name or find anything about it on polycount(maybe it was posted on the 'old' boards), so if you know anything about it I'd be very thankful

depends if it was in the EULA, and then after that it depends if you think the EULAs are binding contracts.
I am personally using it to see how some old PSX games used their texturespace :poly136: Did you know they already used a very primitive form of lightmaps back then? I was just curious to how they did it :nerd: DONT JUDGE ME!!!!
I'm still waiting for the day when the "print" button on the keyboards is renamed into "illegal button"
This is a no-no. Don't do it, please, because it can put us in an ugly bind.
As a matter of fact, this thread kinda treads on some shaky legal ground. Since I am not 100% sure of the full legality of the tool, I am going to leave it open for discussion *ONLY*. Please do not post screenshots taken with them. Thanks.
