Painting Transparency in Zbrush?

Hey guys,
Does anyone know if theres a way to paint transparency onto a mesh in zbrush, for something like fringed cloth or fur? I've always painted the 3d cards and alpha'd the parts i dont want later, but it would be sweet if i could combine that into the zb pipeline.
Anyone done anything like this before, or know if theres a way?
