Marmoset Mod tools Beta release

For everyone who has asked for it, here it is!
Allright everybody:

http://www.8monkeylabs.com/dodtools_100.exe

Included you will find:

Habitat The level editor.
Toolbag An art tool for previewing and editing meshes, animations, particles, and more.
Maya plugin For exporting meshes, skeletons, and animations from Autodesk Maya.
Cagebreak For expanding the game data files and generally making things editable.

This is a beta test release of the tools. If there are major problems with the tools or their deployment, we will make revisions before they are made more publicly available. For now you forum monkeys are the only people getting the tools, but we hope to do a wider more public release soon if this goes at all well.

We have included some basic documentation, but it is far from complete. 8monkey is not in a position to support these tools in any official capacity whatsoever, so don't go calling tech support or something if you get stuck. Make sure to look at the habitat readme file after you install, it details how to use cagebreak to make your copy of the game editable, and the tools usable. The tools will not work until cagebreak is run. So yea, check the readme.

We urge you discuss the tools here in the fourms. Us developer types will be listening in, and while we can't promise to answer all questions right away, we'll try to help out.

Having not opened the level editor in a while, I've been having fun playing with it again these last few days while getting the release ready. It really is fun to tinker with this game smile.gif We hope you enjoy it!

IMPORTANT: Please post any issues/bugs/etc on the offical DoD forum, so the guys at 8ML arent doing tech support across two forums:

jeffrussell: btw, one thing worth noting
jeffrussell: this version of toolbag uses texture compression; we had to do this because .tgac files are all that ship with the game
jeffrussell: so its all ppl have; they dont have the .tga files for the most part
jeffrussell: it will still open tga files like normal; but you'll see them displayed compressed (like in game)

So, if you use the previous release of toolbag if you want to preview your stuff with uncompressed textures!
