A planet is trapped by a huge sperical harvesting ship and some minutes later the last sunlight will be gone forever - then the harvesting will start.
Questions i have
I like the first concept because there is a clear foreground and background. But the last concept gives the best feeling for the situation i think - the light will be gone soon!
What do you think?

I will use Cryengine 2 / Sandbox 2 Editor. I plan to just create a skysphere & the tower in the foreground.

You could also play with low gravity since so much mass on the outside of a planet may create 0 gravity, or even reverse gravity . Would make things easier to harvest too...
When the harvest aliens will come to earth they will be really pissed! No more ressources to harvest

Eh, cool idea, but physically it wouldn't mess with the gravity crazy fingers, lighting is the big thing here. The world would be dark besides the crack.

I remember they had a episode of invader zim like this called "planet jackers" where a alien race went to planets and basically put a giant shell around it and the inside projected the sky and such as a giant TV tube so the people inside the planet would not realize anything has happened at all. They would then throw the planet into a dying sun to feed the sun to last longer.
I like the idea of the giant shell just eatting it with no real hope kinda idea to it, more along the lines of just "oh shit giant metal death is coming!"
