My first online competition. Seeing all this great work here, 2D and 3D makes me nervous about joining but I'm going to give this all I've got. I wasn't sure how to interpret "end game" but the first thing that came to me was our sun going supernova. So here is my first concept.
The sun is going supernova spelling the end of humanity on earth. But fortunately the governments of the world were prepared and built cities on other planets for humanity to occupy. This particular concept illustrates a terrain planet but the lower layers of the atmosphere is too toxic to breathe. The solution is a city being hung from the planet's mushroom shaped mountains.

This next concept of is based off the first one, in the sense that it's the same "end game" idea. Only this would be another human colony on a planet with little fertile land. What land they have is dedicated to agriculture and cities have to be built upwards.
So the hanging city takes the vote i guess I'm becoming partial to a more beehive shaped city instead of a suspended acorn. And for the "end game" theme, maybe have it torn open by some massive meteor or something and instead of dripping honey, it'll drip thick, lucious black oil. OOooohh I'm getting ideas just thinking about it. As I'm writing this, I'm coming to the conclusion that's the concept I'll stick with.
Anyway I started this yesterday as a third concept and then hit a creative block. I decided I hated the concept and wanted to turn it into something else but I'm at a loss of what to do with it. Is this worth pursuing or just let it rot, do you guys think?
Here's what direction i'm thinking of taking this piece in.
sun looks like a star cool!
