Did some hiking with some fellow co-workers/polycounters this weekend at Snow Lake in Snoqualmie pass. I wish I had a better camera/lens though, but they came out fairly decent for taking alot of them while walking.
We might be going again soon, it would have been cool if u came, but it came together so fast. Will def. let u know next time. It was beautiful out, but a little nippy, prob. 40-45 in some parts.
Awesome that looked like a lot of fun, those are some pretty good shots. I used to do week long hikes up in Alberta about this time of year, before I settled down. Not so rocky, not a lot of fir trees more aspin and pine, a lot of open fields but great camping and you can cover a lot of ground and never run into anyone.
Now is a pretty good time to get some hikes in. Cold enough the bugs (and people) probably aren't out in force and stepping out into the sun actually feels good.
Pilchuck is pretty good this time of year too, amazing views too, if the weather is clear. It's pretty crowded in the summer especially on the weekends, but with the view at the top from the look out its pretty easy to see why. This is a sweet time to go before it starts snowing.
Mt Baker is amazing too. But its a drive and half from way down here. There is a lodge you can drive up to. You have to call ahead make reservations if you're going to stay. It's fan-freakin-tastic staying there and hiking around. It's probably booked up this time of year though, but with the economy the way it is... maybe not...
