I started this sketchbook thread years ago and completely forgot about it. Recently I've been wanting a place to post WIPS of personal projects or experiments. Turns out I had the perfect place all along.
I'm going try reviving this thread as a posting board for my unfinished stuff. There's a bunch of REALLY old work up front, but hopefully that will just make the new stuff look better.

Also, is the environment a max or maya screenshot? Could try putting it in unreal or an engine like that. Lighting would look awesome.
Making a fairly basic prop to get some practice in with the Substance apps. Just baked down the HP in Painter.
Basic block-in for materials. I've got a replacement for the wood in the works. The brass also needs to be aged and toned down. Basic overall wear and tear as well.
A note for myself: try doing Diffuse/Roughness in a separate substance graph with the normal and height as inputs so it can be exported to painter.
Color blocked and ready to bake. Remarkably festive looking for a garbage bin.
