I think its all bullshit.
I mean, yeah, he's good, and we support him, hell, better him than republicans, but nobel peace prize? no way, sorry.
If in two-three years we could speak about him having completely closed Guantanamo, having all troops retreated from Iraq and/or Afghanistan and perhaps even solved the current Iran issue, then I'd say it is justified.
Guantanamo yes troops yes Iran dont think so.. I doubt anyone can change the situation in Iran. As long as Isreal maintains a nuclear deterrent, Iran will always work to have a deterrent of thier own.

Remember, Kissinger got a nobel prize for such as well, and he actually was/is a manipulative b@stard in the Vietnam war not so interested on creating a peace, as gaining power.
Especially considering the cut off for submissions was 2 weeks after he took office. I'm pulling for the guy like everyone else but seriously nothing takes the wind out of the prize faster than giving it to someone prematurely.
I think that would be a very weak sign to give it back with this in mind.
America should be proud no matter what reason he got it for.
Pinning a medal on someone who is still running a race only slows them down.
It feels more like pity from the international community. "Oh look at lil America, struggling to figure out health care and clean up Bush's mess, and that Olympic thing didn't go well at all, they need a little pick me up. Maybe this will shut up FoxNews?"

Moving on, how can you win a Nobel Peace Prize and send 40,000 troops to the middle east? LOL. And by being in office for only 12 days to boot! This guy is so narcissistic he doesn't even understand why he got the prize. "Erm... I don't really think I did anything to warrant this award, but I'll take it anyway!"

I think it will take a lot more than 8 years to dig us out of the hole that took 8 years to dig. I just don't think he needs a pat on the back yet. Yea he's said some great things and is even starting to put them in motion, but the road to ruin is paved with great intentions. Lets see where his intentions lead before we go congratulating him.

I think you didn't understand the words he wrote.
A more effective strategy would have been to inform President Obama that he had been a very promising candidate for the award, but that it had been given to someone with more concrete results for their actions. That would have served as better psychological motivation.
Honestly, I hope that President Obama is able to live up to this award, and deliver the kind of international good-will that would warrant it. We will all be better off if this comes to pass. There is no point in not supporting our commander and chief over this Nobel Prize thing. He wasn't the one deciding who got it.
I am a little upset with the Nobel Prize board, though. There were probably plenty of other candidates who have worked hard and were likely more deserving. Awarding Obama largely due to a changing of the guard is unfair to people who have put real effort and sacrifice into achieving world peace.
