Problems in itunes

Can someone help me?

Why is it that some musics that have can't be imported into iTunes?

I drag and drop them into itunes and nothing happens..
I try the File\ add folder to library and also nothing happens.

This only happens on some songs.

Anyone had this happened before?

If it is in FLAC or OGG, iTunes won't read it. Could that be the issue?

Don't get me started on iTunes. I recently bought a Touch and gave in to using iTunes. The idiots who develop that program need to be strung up. Aside from the crappy methods for transferring content, it decided to start removing the apps from my Touch and didn't import my 'purchased' apps correctly. It thought I only have 4 of the 14 apps that I had downloaded.

I suggest using alternatives if possible. I was trying to do this on my hackintosh, and until yesterday, there didn't seem to be a third party alternative. I read about Doubletwist yesterday and it looks promising.

I don't have any problems with iTunes. Then again most of the music I buy is either ripped from CD or purchased directly through iTunes.

It's all mp3 files.

No idea what's going on..

For example. i have an album where only 2 musics show up in itunes while the rest of the songs don't get imported

Do they all have proper I3D/meta tags?

I have a whole bunch of shit I have to scroll right down to the bottom of iTunes for, because they don't have artist/album tags (And I'm too lazy to add them).

Make sure you have "All" artists/albums selected and scroll down to the bottom of the content window?

the real problem is that they get imported into itunes!!

i deleted the entire library and tried importing one album im having trouble with. and it didnt import shit!

It may be that your ID3 tags are screwed up somehow. The recommendation I saw (and have used myself in the past) is MP3Tag http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Download it, then clear all the ID3 tag info. You'll have to relist the mp3 info, but try it.

Yeah, in the past, I've had my wife use sharepod and floola for her previous nano. She sold it a while back, and we haven't tried either of those programs with our new Touchs. One of them really funcked up at one time, but I can't remember which one, so I didn't want to recommend them given his current frustrations

Have you done a search of your computer to see if it's saving the ripped mp3s anywhere at all?

Is the iTunes search bar clear?

What import settings are you using with iTunes?
What did you use to rip your older mp3s? Sometimes the file has some bad section in it that could prevent iTunes from reading it.

If you are having trouble with importing AND getting things synched properly, then you may have a borked up copy of iTunes.. try uninstalling completely and reinstalling it.

(iTunes on Windows is trash as far as I'm concerned. Rarely a problem on my Mac.)

iTunes on Windows is indeed trash. Slow, bloated, horrible trash.
I have no idea why it wouldn't take your MP3s though. I only use it for uploading stuff to my iPod and I've never had issues apart from it taking bloody ages to do anything.

i had issues importing some mp3s in vista because the permissions weren't set up right on the files. i didn't have read and write permissions or something. i think you right click on the file, choose properties and look on the security panel to check permissions.

I had issues uploading music to my ipod shuffle. I switched to winamp. All problems solved.

my bro has a mac and i tried importing the songs into his itunes and it didnt work..

i think the mp3 are fucked up, altho they are read in every other program except itunes..

Got this from a forum

I had the exact same problem with misc different mp3 files, but thanks to this thread the problem was solved! The info here is correct about the problem being due to the id3 tags. The problem was solved by opening the files in Winamp (I'm using Vista), pushing alt-3 with the song highlighted, and unchecking the "Include ID3v2 tag in file" box. At that point the file can then be added to the iTunes library.

Oh, awesome, that's a simple solution. I've had this problem before. Except it was with a bunch of albums from the same artist, instead of just one.
