sorry guys, i have images at home from each part of this and what its gonna be. Not long ago for an art test i did a town sorta taken over my hell. I wanted to make the buildings look alive. Like hell took over them not the zerg or whatever alien race does stuff like that.
Example of such is the tavern in the middle has a mouth on it. I will make flesh growing over brick with eyes and so on coming out of it. The Forge of the town has a tounge in it.
for my own personal satisfaction i will try to paint this in a Diablo 3 fashion. very painterly but i will also be having normal maps and so on. I still have to make the ground lumpy and so on also. I want the church to be over looking the town and thats where the final battle takes place. i dont know if i'll have everything finished in time either but if im gonna do some personal work might as well do something i'll be proud of, even if it takes me a little longer.
It is ambitious, but it should be a cool look You probably could take down the number of elements a bit and lot loose impact if you wanted. What kind of a backdrop are you going to use?
Start with the church though -- you've got to love a church that sort of looks like it's wearing a viking helmet
ok so the church with the hat, is gonna be more like that tower with the horns style and color scheme will be same as the diablo pic next to it. That building below it is the hall/tavern with the mouth and so on
I would like some rock structure growing around the church like the top right pic. really hellish on earth feel. Not like the devil just forgot to turn off his red lights in every building he seems to be in. I mean come on Diablo, a little energy conservation. I guess he is the devil though?
