I'm upgrading my portfolio and I was hoping to get some advice on which pieces I should include. Is it normal to look at old work which you were very proud of at the time, and now see nothing but flaws in it?
I only want to keep 4 or 5 of these so please tell me which ones you like best.
Also please look at what's already on the site and give me some opinions on those. Especially the traditional section. I haven't gotten any feedback on my stuff in a year.
I am about to redesign the layout. It will still be utilitarian like it is now, but i'm hoping a bit more contemporary looking.
One major thing to point out about these images is that they are all high poly, and lit with global illumination techniques. That's not exactly "game-ready" but the project required pre-rendered backgrounds and that's what I did.
Super many thanks in advance.
P.S.
I will get yelled at if I don't stamp the big copyright logo.

EDIT: I can edit this image if necessary and remove items which aren't showcasing anything special. Sorry I didn't label everything.
no offense to you, but man i hate visualization and fancy rendering/lighting and shit lol. Seeings things like these reminds me why i fell in love with game art in the first place :P
Working on these I was very conscious of the fact that they may be hard to market for other gaming jobs. Blame the "casual" gamer I guess. But then again most adventure games follow this kind of design style with the pre-renders. Gears of War is sooo 2008. Pre-rendered backgrounds is the way of the future:thumbup:
I must say that all those procedural specular maps, and fresnel reflections were a lot of fun. They should try to incorporate them into game engines.
I finished updating my site. For anyone who really likes the layout, FORGET IT. Getting the javascript to work was a nightmare, and it took forever to find a config that worked across all browsers.
Everything is up for critique. I won't be sure of anything until you guys give me some opinions.
Thanks
