Hi guys, long time lurker, first time thread starter.

THE MADMAN'S LAB

The idea I came up with for an 'End Game' scenario is a mad scientists laboratory. It'll be a mix of a throne room, with Frankenstein's laboratory flavored with a bit of sci-fi. I don't have concept art yet, but I'll have a draft of that plus a blocking out of the scene by end of week. Until then... here's a small style sheet I put together.

oh man, nice ref's. thats gonna be some real fun details to model! maybe add some large vats or jars with strange unknown experiments hinted at inside

oh yeah... that's something i definitely had in mind. It'll be a fairly large room and the walls will be lined with vats and electrical nodes. possibly a computer station. gotta make sure i keep it reigned in so i'll actually be able to finish it, then add on to it from there.

Life really got in the way the past few weeks. This is all I have to share for now. It's rendered in Marmoset... couldn't figure out how to add an emissive map... that's all it's really missing. Have more pieces modeled and a few tiling textures to add. Got a paper due Monday, but after that... gonna hit this bad boy hardcore and finish. Until then...

I really like the idea, but I have to agree with cholden, not even halo was this blocky. This is pushing Half Life levels of low poly that was 10 years ago?
Gotta kick it up a few notches and spend some polys.

So I took the critiques to mind and went back to rework my idea a bit. i decided that it needed a bit more of an "End Game" urgency.




and i just realized that i need to round out the edges of the tube chambers on the left and right. *adds to list*

Gonna fix that nasty seam down the middle after work and wrap this up to turn in after class tonight. I'm looking forward to doing this again when I will have more time in the future.






not many angles you can do in an enclosed space... i'll remember that.
