Hello
Me and my friend BjornM are new to polycount and the 3d art community in general and thought we would try our skill in this competition.
We are both studying Digital Graphics at nackademin here in stockholm.
Our idea, and concept is leaned towards a forgotten research facility/ factory type complex set in the depth of a jungle. An Epic battle has taken place here and the only thing left is the remnants of the battle and a half functioning facility.
I hope its a valid enough description, it might change aswell as the idea of the project, but this is our first and foremost vision.
We tried to concept it up best we could but none of us are very good at the drawing part.

Three props, not in the right propotions to eachother though.
Environment test, consists of 3 x 512 textures (then their respective spec and normal) 2 for the ground and one for the foliage.
foliage is always awesome. just the banane leaf plant doesn't work really well scaled down
Working on the building opposite of the main building, texturing and putting in small foliage etc.
We are going to start moving stuff into UE3 soon, but in the meantime im working on the textures.
Alot of the textures arnt done, biggest examples are the main beam that goes out and the wall texture being really off with its tileing.
About time we put up more stuff. First up is the main building that is almost done.
Ill post pictures of our scene in UE3 in just a bit
edit* accidently replaced the files that were the WIP pictures
The only 2 things that bother me for now r:
1) scale (huge trees kinda make the facility look a dwarf buuilding near some creek)
2) not sure if the setting will not make it look like just abandoned facility. Unless everything around will be burned and smoked;)
2: Yeah we will add alot of damage, and overgrowth to show that its been abandoned.
I haven't posted anything so far so here we are:
Anyway, we are starting to put it more and more stuff, all those different vegetation we made is making it in aswell.
its a little flat atm, but we need to fill the scene first.
Don't forget that u can save lots of time if u will be modeling only considering specific beauty shot angle
Your environment is nice, but might take too much time and at the end u need only 1 or 2 screenshots for your submission.
Good work anyways.
We are trying to find the best way to make a lodded forest in the background and fill the distance with some simple mountains. Then for some epic destruction
i love your entry btw
Rad stuff, good job.
PS Nice poly use as well, a I didn't imagine the tricount was so low.
great job
