Here's my latest prop that I'm looking for some C&C on. It's a Shell Oil Drum, coming in at 590 tris. I learnt a bit more about baking normal maps with this project so I am already happy about that. I really like the way this turned out. This was also my first time trying out a real 3-point lighting set-up, and I don't know if I succeeded but I thought it looked okay. Images are screenshots from Maya's High Quality Viewport.
The paint could use more scratches, the red and yellow are a bit too saturated, could use some deeper small dents and the metal could use more dirt/noise. And the red stripe at the bottom (in the reference image) is lighter than the rest. The dirt doesn't look too great (looks too small?)
Looks cool! I think you could desaturate the main red/Yellow just a bit, also on the reference image there a splotches where the red is more saturated and less saturated than the base red. That could be a nice little detail to add.
Thanks for the crits guys! I added some more scratches in the paint, a little more grunge, desaturated the colors, a couple deeper dents, and shaved off 32 tris.
Here is the result:
Looks much better! The only thing I would add is some larger dents. A barrel that scratched up would have some pretty good dents. Other than that nice work!

Looks pretty spot on though.
