Humanscale Freedom Task Chair. Accept no substitutes. I tried a coworkers years ago and it's been top of my wishlist ever since. I've sat in a few Herman Miller Aeron chairs and IMO they don't even come close (it could be because I'm a tall and relatively muscular person, but I've always found the herman miller offers rather small).

a chair is one of the best investments you can make in this industry, dont spare money on it
QFT. I have a 5-600 euro chair, that is about 800 dollars I think. Pretty much everything is adjustable (armrest height, seat forward offset, backrest tilt hardness, etc), which is quite important. Its seat also tilts along slightly with the back rest, something cheaper chairs don't have and is quite important.
Edit, don't know the brand, just had the seat store advise me on a few and then picked one.
