Second Skin: Documentary

I recently found out about this documentary on MMORPGs, which apparently has been out for a while now. If you've never seen it, I'd recommend getting it somehow and checking it out, I rather enjoyed it and didn't expect it to be as engaging as it was.

Man I watched this and you can't help but feel bad for some of these addicts. Others are living in crack-den like places and others live in like communal houses where all they do is play wow. And those two people who got married after meeting online in DAOC or something... Fucking hell.

A lot of cringe worthy stuff.

anyone know if it gives any credit to Everquest? I was a big Everquest player and absolutely hate how WoW stole center stage, in fact the only thing i like about WoW is that its paying the bills for blizzards good games.

Actually I think that one couple I was talking about met through EQ and not DaoC, sorry. They also have an awesome wedding of some couple from EQ where Darth Vader is the best man or something.

It was interesting for the first half, the second half just got a little too... nerdy for me, started to literally feel uncomfortable watching it... but overall it was a pretty sick documentary.

There was another one that focused on Street Fighter, I thought that one was much better.

Okay, I just watched it as well.

Maybe it's only because I was half paying attention...and sorry, this may be a "SPOILER" if you can spoil documentaries...but the woman towards the end who lost her son..did she take her son out of psychiatry sessions because the doctor said he had schizophrenic behaviour...had him blow his brains out and then blames video games?

Other than that, I thought it was alright...though pretty much a land I don't understand I don't think I've ever played an MMO for more than a week...
