Powerballs!

They seem like an ideal toy to have around the pc - maybe not in a studio however, I believe they get fairly loud.

I don't know exactly. I've never tried one out. But theres a weighted ball that spins and strengthens your forearm somehow.

yup I have one, quite fun and tiring. Kinda of like playing some wii game that involves rapid shaking of wii mote.

Havent used it for a few months though

It's a gyro you can oscillate with your hand and the faster it spins, the harder it is to spin, but I have bad technique and get blisters on my pinky.

The joy of a neon one is that more LEDs light up the faster it goes - in the dark you can make your own disco ball.

We had a league at work for a while in our department, then some guy upped the anti with the metal ball, then everyone elses moral dropped.

I had gotten one a while ago. The instructional video included with it is ultra creepy.

Its a gyroscope, but a semi massive one. Moving it through and away from its inertial plane takes effort. The heavier the gyro, and/or the faster it spins the more force you need to alter it.

Yeah I bought one to help with wrist pain and it really works, if I feel a little sore I just do this for like ten minutes and I feel fine, if I remember to do it every day before work usually don't have a problem.

Took awhile to figure it out though, it's hard to explain, you just end up getting it eventually.

I have one, they are nice for wrists. I experienced a slight improvement while using the keyboard and the mouse.

They are actually pretty cool, a guy had one at work and you can see how they'd help combat carpal tunnel.

Effectively you use it when you are taking an eye break and spin it around in your hand, it helps break the pattern of motion your arms have using a mouse in the work day....

Unless of course, your the that one creepy guy every company has who bats one off at their workplace, yeah you know who you guys are!!! You make me sick!! :P

a coworker of mine has them--they're good for wrist strength, which is virtually impossible to build up. He uses it because he rock climbs a lot, but it's good for people with wrist problems too.

Its the sort of thing you use for a bit after you've bought it and then never use again.

Whenever my wrists start getting sore I'll use the powerball a couple times and then I have no problems for weeks afterwards. Worthwhile purchase for sure.

But I wouldn't use it at an office since it's pretty loud.

A friend of mine has one. It's fun just to see how long you can go for, or how high you can rev it (everything in this thread is a euphemism for masturbation). Gotta get the high score and all of that.
