Plants textures sources?

Hello is there any good site , free or not where I can find good plants textures sources? I dont mean the alpha contourns of the silouhettes of a plant but actual images of leaves , flowers , trunks etc to take and work in ps to apply on a 3d model....

Yeh I know this but its very generic and not specific , I am looking more accurate description of plants there its just some generic like tropical leav etc....

Xfrog have a good selection of plants. The description is very good of the plants eg environment, size etc etc.

Mmmm not wuite what I was looking for , I just look for the details textures sources to use to make my own textures and then I want to model the tree ....

or paint your own.

there really aren't that great of foliage source images available.

I tend to paint a leaf, and then use that to build up a high poly branch with lots of leaves, then render that back down to usable cards.

well there are plenty of commercial ones- if you really want or need them maybe reconsider paying.
As for free I believe cg-textures is the best you can get for free. You could google

stuff and see if there are some specific sources available (I once found some blender related tree textures with alphas).

wel I wanted to make crysis like plants , tropical ones , and as I guess u know how crysis is done has some textures for leaves , etc , the model I build rig etc but I wanted to make some specifical tropical plants , and for this I d need specific names/ textures of the plants in question .... apart from me going to a jungle in Costarica or Guatemala some sites do provide any help on this ?

Like Tumerboy said a good workflow (when you've got the time) is to model and texture some highpoly leaves then bake down to a texture sheet and paint any needed additional details. That way you get alpha, normal, AO, and at least a base diffuse map all in one go.

What I usually do when I need to make a specific plant or tree is to search for it's scientific name through wikipedia or some other site then do a image search for that.

There are quite a few botanical image databases out there, though most of them don't offer images that you could use on a commercial project. The images you can get from those sites are good for reference material for painting or modeling highpoly plants.

I'm so sad I lost a link to a awesome plant reference site that organized it's photos by regions of the world, and I can't seem to find it. The great thing about it was that it had high resolution photos of any given plant or tree at each stage of life with macro shots of leaves, flowers, branches, fruit, bark, pretty much everything you would need to build any particular plant or tree. If anyone knows what site I"m talking about please post the link.
