Maya: Transfer Maps, Diffuse flipped (registering on back)

Hey guys.

I'm trying to create a cubemap texture in Maya using Maya's Transfer Map to sample the diffuse colors around a polygon cube. I have a sphere with a starmap texture and a few polygon spheres with planet textures.

The Cube has a UV-map layout to match ATIs cubemap cross layout.

Everything is working fine, except for the fact that the sampled colors register on the back of the cube. On the back of the corresponding intersection point. At least in my mind.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Am I just missing something here? Some magical checkbox to fix it?
