file recovery software

Any suggestions?. I need to recover some data from my sata laptop drive. my new pc reads it as RAW, but the data is still there as it works on my older pc.
The software I used already only finds the hidden recovery partition.

cheers man. got it done already though with get data back.

yeah, got all the data, formatted again and now my laptop harddrive works in my brand spanky new quad core computer

Glad you already recovered your files! I used "RecoverMyFiles" several times. Despite its name it did a pretty good job on recovering!

nothing like stating the obvious The Bat:)

yeah the thing was the sata disk works fine in my old pc, but not in my new, so I Knew the files were there, just need to retrieve them.( old pc suddenly died just as I was retrieving files)
I also fixed my external hard drive, by replacing the broken 1Tb hard disk with my old laptop disk. At least I salvaged a few bits and pieces.
Overall I lost two nice pieces of work, the clint eastwood head and the rocketman which I had been working on for months.
My new pc is working great though, nice quad core, make things so much easier
