Max - Alt key acting up

Ok, so i have a few short cuts that i use alt... but for some reason, when i press alt, it goes up to the menus at the top. so, alt+e usually selects my edge loop, but now, its opening my edit menu... i must of pressed something, i just dont know what. and no, its not the shortcut over ride.

anyone have any idea?

have you rebooted max? I've had this; but it's when you've pressed alt and let go, THEN press e. max --for some reason only max-- seems to respond differently to this, and will have trouble getting out of it. Not sure why, or if it's easily repeatable.

Also make sure you don't have the "keyboard shortcut override toggle" button clicked

That was the first thing I thought of as well, but then I made sure to read the rest. In your defense, it is pretty hard to read his post.
