Thinking of picking up an older cintiq on the cheap. A 15x or 18sx. Would these be ok with Zbrush or Mudbox or is it a waste of money. Anyone own any of these models? Thanks
I have the 15" one. I love it. Would love to have the larger 20 or 21 inch one but the 15" is perfect for what I need it for now. I wouldn't want the 12" it's too small compared to the 15" i would say.
I use it for photoshop, and zbrush.
There seems to be a bug with mudbox 2010 where unless you turn on steady stroke the cursor is off slightly from where your pen is.
I tried one at school for 3 months, it wasn't that much better than an intuos, actually I think I like the wheel of the intuos better, and your hand doesn't get in the way. Plus the screen gets hot and dirty quick. I think it all boils down to preference though.
I got the 15 incher and it's great. Saving up for a bigger one someday, but the 15 has enough space in zbrush if I use the interface that doesn't have anything then I just put the tools on the side and I am good to go.
got one of the 21's and to be honest its not all its cracked up to be, it has pretty much spent most of its life in the box since i got it 2 years ago.
i would still use my intuos 3 when i had the cintiq plugged in. like zacd said they get really hot and dirty quickly and it is kind of awkward to use.
but thats just my thoughts on it
