What is your experience with "...." company?

Hey everyone,

There may be a thread like this, if there is please direct me in the right direction.

Basically I am just curious of peoples' various experiences with different companies. I will be graduating in about 9 months and I want to know what companies treat their employees well. I heard that whole EA schpeel a while back (not sure what it was about), but it had something to do with poor working conditions I believe.

Just say a few sentences of where you've worked and what it was like !

This thread could grow enough to help a lot of others out there as well.

You have to work in the industry and join using an industry email address. It kinda took over fatbabies from years ago.

You won't get a lot of people giving honest negative opinions about their current or past employer in public because it's a really stupid thing to do and can put your career in a bad place. Burning bridges and all that.

That's why TCE is useful, as are some of these other sites that allow you to post and get semi-anonymous info. The other, easier option, is to look up there in that thread here in polycount that lists polycounters working at various places and send them a PM asking what it's like working there.

Overall Impression: Getting up at the crack of dawn to bundle and deliver newspapers to cranky geriatrics was not worth the money. I should have mowed lawns instead.

I understand about the whole burning bridges thing, too. I was a bit hesitant to post this thread because I was unsure of the kind of response I was going to get... but I'm glad I was informed about TCE

I work at Frozen Codebase and it sucks... I have to like make art for money and drink beer... then in the winter I have to shovel my driveway

Also, I don't think I can join the private forums to read the juicy stuff. I need to show proof of working in the game industry by providing a work account email, which I don't have. The best I can do is tell them I have production experience with a team of about 20+ people.

I suppose I will try unless someone can refer me, if that is possible.

TCE is indeed what your looking for. it was reasonably easy to get on there, but i had a work email. if you can find someone to vouch for you its pretty easy too.
