Threewave Software is seeking a technical artist to provide strong artistic content to our newest exciting PC/Console titles. Threewave Software believes in supporting team effort and is looking for team players who are bright, highly motivated, and passionate about game production.

Responsibilities

•Act as a bridge between the Artists and Programmers working on the game
•Communicate with Lead Artist, Art Director and Lead Programmer regarding the visual and technical aspects of the game
•Take ownership of the technical aspects of production (animations, characters, terrain, UI, etc.)
•Mentor team members in making creative and technical decisions to maintain consistent style
•Proactive in problem solving with other team members
•Think creatively and resolve technical challenges and limitations
•Motivate others and maintains a positive professional attitude
•Design, model, and texture 3D environments for next-gen games when required

Required


•Thorough knowledge of and efficient in using 3D modeling and animation packages, including but not limited to 3D Studio Max or Maya
•Extensive Knowledge of Unreal 3 Engine
•Ability to excel and adapt to new technologies and game engines as well as custom software
•Mentorship abilities
•Exceptional ability to design and produce game art assets
•Excellent time management skills
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•Background in concept/graphic/and or architecture design
•Ability to multi task under pressure
•Committed employee who is self-sufficient in his / her artistic and technical area of expertise
•At least 3 years previous experience in art related position in the game industry
•Keen interest in playing games and the future of the gaming industry

Preference

•Experience in cross-platform development
•Area of Focus: Technical oriented position with broad understanding of game functionality
•Previous game characters, weapons and animation asset creation and management
•Able to manage and evaluate product performance in many aspects
•FPS and/or third person game types
•Knowledge of traditional media
•Experience with modular construction

•Due to time constraints, individuals who are Legally Entitled to Work in Canada are preferred, however foreign applicants with excellent qualifications will be considered.
Portfolio:

•Previous technical related assignments
•Documented tutorials and technical ideation
•Props, vehicles, animations, etc…
•Texture and shader work
•Wire frame & post-processed images
