i remember one year my friend got the tyrannosaurus dino rider for christmas and all i got was that bitch ass terradactyl *sigh*
this of course was christmas 2008...
Had most of 'em as a kid, including the t-rex , but traded 'em away like a little dumbshit for other weaker toys from a friend. Figure when I actually get cash again I'll go back and build the collection back up.
as for the board, I think I found the missing link.
reminds me of this shit i made a million years ago but never finished:
oooh, that's awesome! It's good to know others that remember 'em, it was my favorite toy as a kid aside from tmnt.
It reminds me I had an idea for a dino riders game I had that kinda played like the first kingdom under fire, not that shitty-ass sequel.
Being able to go from strategically control all your forces on the map then zooming all the way down to an individual warrior to fight as... with dinosaurs with laser beams attatched to their freakin' heads.
friggin dinosaurs with friggin laserbeams!
a kid in kindergarden had the T-rex. i fucking hate that kid to this day, because that was the most awesome toy i had ever seen.
i always wanted the triceratops though, that radar dish looked really cool.
dinorider strategy game..
hehe, that'd be cool. you could go out and grab dinos to bolster your army.
hehe, I had the t-rex in kindergarten... must have been me I always wanted to see the brontosaurus in person, it was the only one that didn't have a clear cut away box >.<

yeah the levels would build out after both sides have crash landed and you could play either. Each level would have you going after progressively bigger 'saurs while the opposing side was trying to do the same. In the end you battle it out with the army you've built.

if you could choose where to crash on the level, it would limit the initial lowbie rush, to get some time for buildup. it could be interesting if you had to hunt the dinosaurs to fit them with gear.
have lots of easily catchable lowbie dinos, and fewer and fewer as they get heavier.
dinos would be recruited by the army, so basically you'd walk through the jungle, and try and gather as many dinos on your team as possible before doing battle.
Ive still got paraworld in my games collection, didnt play it much but the art was pretty cool, its not scifi like dinoriders but its got some fun dino riding action

Ged, that's rad I never even heard of it, which system?
deja: yeah totally, it could have that whole timer over the whole arc, kind of like valkyrie profile, and one thing I want it to have is pulled out view to comammand your fleet (draw out paths on the fly for each squad to follow like KUF) zoom down to your individual dino, the you can zoom to the rider, whom can get off his dino and try to fight on land or get another dino.

Grand Theft Dino XD
i'd be happy with riding 1st person on top of the T-rex, and order the lasers to fire on what i point at.
getting off, dunno. wouldn't mind lasers and shit to magically pop onto the dino once its captured, complete with an extra rider. or maybe you could have a set amount of riders, and once the dino is killed, he'll jump off and try to escape.
well, you could have a base, which teleports stuff like gear onto the field. and teleporting requires power, which there's a limited amount of. teleporting larger gear takes longer, and it also takes longer to teleport stuff which is further from the base.

"dinosaurs -> THIS PARTICULAR MAGICAL CREATURE -> current animal"

But really now, armored tyrannosaurs are where it's at.
Daaaamn skippy

though I hope they didn't have feathers >.>
Just because you have feathers doesn't mean you can fly.
