Hey folks,
Most games theses days support bone animation in game, having used vertex morph or other means in the past.
Can anyone say where this was first used in a commercial game?
On another note many systems now support skeletal and muscle setups for example skinfx and other such softwares.
How far will this go, wheres the sky on this one?

edit; Hmm, no, apparently Q3 was still vertex animation.
Killer Instinct for sure, in the arcades.
Quake 1/2/3 were all vertex animation, though Q3 divided models into three jointed sections. Killer Instict and its sequel were both sprite-based. Half life sounds like a likely candidate as far as major or modable games go, but who can say what small projects might have used it on a small scale before then?
[edit] We have the technology today to do realtime softbody deformation and destruction so it seems the days where we'll need to be modeling bones, organs, muscles and cardiovascular systems are imminent. Really, asking where computing power will be by the end of our lifetime is unfathomable.
I remember seeing that a few years back, almost certain it was the first
