Thanks man, appreciate it I usually do quite a few gestures, but I only share a handful at a time. It's good practice, that's for sure..now I need to start posting some of my bridgman studies
Nice sketchbook man! I'm really digging the gestures and recent thumbnails. Only minor crit (not sure if you're looking for them) would be maybe to try and push / exaggerate your poses more, and watch out for unnecessary brush marks. Either way, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your work!
tonight's brain dump..I think he's some sort of humanoid worm creature. Tons of flaws, but this was mostly about playing with color and I definitely enjoyed it
Great linework. I can see the Bridgman / Vilppu influence on some of your work. They are excellent masters to learn from. I notice that sometimes you put too much line in your mass painting study though. It kinda of takes it out of the impressionist realm, and into cartoon shading.
Like in the tenticle painting, the background and foreground objects are all soft and impressionistic, with hard lines only around the outline. Then suddenly the tenticles come in with this harsh, cell shaded look, as if some one put a hard light on them. It takes them out of the environment they're in and they stick out way too much imho.

Need to work more on creating convincing depth, but I think I've made some progress from the last ones.

You're right about my figures, really need to try out a wider array of poses. I'll be posting some updates there pretty soon.

Forgot to post arts..
More fun with color/comp. Here's where I started..
...and where I'm at.

marlfox8, search "Eadweard Muybridge - The Human Figure in Motion", also Virtual pose program(1, 2 and 3 version)
This offering feels kinda weak, but I haven't posted anything in awhile. So it's more of a reminder that I need to keep practicing
Got a few I've done from a daily sketch thing some of us are doing at work. These are 15-30 mins each.
From oldest to new:
now post more than once a month.
in an effort to combat artistic lethargy..
