Hello all, this is my first time working on a character model with a higher tri count than 500. I originally started this for the LPC, but decided it would be a better learning experience to do a full high poly model.

I've tried to do model the edge flows to mimic muscles, but I'm sure there are obvious flaws with the anatomy. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me out here.

References, references and references! Modeling a human figure is not different from modeling anything else, in the sense you ought to know what you're modeling. The only difference is that you think you know how men and women look like, but that's... untrue, and deceitful.

Here are a couple of thread to help you jump start.

Be sure to check Gauss' adaption of Loomis' works, in second link. In my opinion topology issues come later, when the shape starts to look right, you discover where is better to place an edge and a loop. Keep on and it will turn out well.

SyncViewS is absolutely right in needing reference. You want to work first for the basic shapes of each part, though before that you would want to know what type of body you're creating, is he fit? is he fat? is he old? The normal human male torso is v shaped and the model pretty much goes straight down, very boxy. But then again, that all depends on the body type you're going for.
