pretty awesome. the gameplay trailer looked awesome. my roommate is stoked, he called the next announced race and he's pretty happy with it.
i honestly dislike these in game cinematic trailers they're making. if you want it to look less like WoW, using these in-game cinematics ain't doing it. on top of that, they just aren't very good, imo.
the very first gameplay trailer with jay wilson's voice-over is how they should announce the races imo, i thought that video was great.

heh, my thoughts exactly. video was saved by the in-game at the end.
I picture the blizzard 'campus' as something very similar to a dairy farm, where all the staff are hooked up to the pumps, but instead of pumping milk out, they pump awesome in.
Murdoc
what would you call the female barbarian, a vaginarian? and maybe the witch nurse?
Amazon, duh. Also I purposely avoidedthe vag reference, thanks for going there lol.
Oh, and agreed about the presentation of the trailers the first time they did I was the best
What would you call a female wizard? femizard? womizard? yeah i'm already out of ideas on this...sorceress it is
.
WRONG! sorry to be an epic lvl54 nerd, but traditionally a WIZARD is a caste that manipulates magic and the area around him/her with spells, spirits and incantations......
A Sorcerer/Sorceress is a being born with the NATURAL ability to manipulate the forces around them...
cough cough....
fuck it i just want my dual wield barbarian HURRY UP BLIZRD!
i agree. the alternative is definitely not as excellent.
although it makes me wonder... is this the first time we've seen the in-game cinematic from blizzard? even for a marketing thing? as far back as i can remember it has always been a full-blown cinematic with them when it comes to these things. i remember seeing it used for world of warcraft. it's generic and they'd be better off just not even bothering, imo.
i really hope they don't have in-game cinematics like these in the actual game, that would really hurt to see happen, imo.
we have seen little talk-bubble-stages with ingame characters. i'm cool with that however; for a means to direct a narrative and get to look at the cool art closer, or in a better light.
i trust blizzard knows what they're doing with their story-telling in games, it is just of my opinion that a lot of games suffer due to an emphasis on story.

I remember being totally underwhelmed with the ending of the frozen throne with the chinsey in game combat seen between arthas and illidun. But in a long lasting RPG like Diablo III i can really cut them some slack in the cinematic department, especially considering the fact they have multiple classes.
not gonna lie, im a little disappointed with this class. Considering they took a class from an expansion that wasnt even made my blizzard.
gameplay looks sick though. kind of hard to keep track of your guy from time to time though.
and i agree with killingpeople. If they use this crap ingame cinematics for the actual game, ill be so upset. blizzards full blown cinematics are what got me interested in animation and modelling in the first place. they are so amazingly good, it would be a shame not to have them for story developement.
It looks like the game is going to be a bit heavier on the narrative this time around. I don't think I'd want a big rendered cut scene for every little story element given and I can't imagine that'd be practical from Blizzard's point of view either. I'd bet money that the reward cutscenes between chapters will remain in all their rendered glory.
so what's the skinny on costs.. I recall reading somewhere you'll pay for the game and have to have a ongoing subscription on battlenet to play single or coop.. that sucks
nm...
okee found a similiar post looks like micro transactions.. starcraft 2 and diablo 3 will ship with battlenet account no additional fees to play on battlenet, options for microtransactions will be available, like possibly resurrecting a dead character, etc
Ummm... that sucked. Diablo cinematics should be awesome rendered animations, not some low-poly Dragonball Z knockoff. I'll play the game regardless of the cutscenes, but anything less than this is epic fail. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubD5wkCG07g&feature=player_embedded]Always into the east...[/ame]
eww one of the most awesome things about games from Blizzard were the cinematics they were the most polished at the time, I remember Starcraft cinematics and thought they were the dogs nuts. It would be a shame if they use low poly knock offs.
Meh, I dont think the available classes really matter in the long run. You just KNOW the other classes will end up in the game sooner or later trough DLC or add-ons. So right now we have:
- the aggresive brute
- the arrogant magic user
- the freaky voodoo priest
- the honorable fighter
Whats next? Im kind of hoping for a character that is on the edge of good/evil, like some demon summoner or necromancer, its kind of missing a real summoner char right now imo.
Yeah I miss the he'll out of my necrosis but the voodoo guy has practically the same spells so next up will have to be. Ranger unless they did away with player bows all together, which is unlikely.
The monk looks like a lot of fun to play, also that's some awesome(!) ingame artwork, especially liking the style on the environments in the monk video

He did some wicked ninja hand sign thingies like in naruto aswell.
you should play both.. =p
lol Vig
Though really, I hope they have a paladin/knight-like class....
damn it!

Im gonna wager the final class is some sort of an archer class (How else are they gonna get Windforce to make an appearance in there).
GOD DAMN I can't wait for this game to come out!
This is easily the game I'm looking forward to the most! Lord knows how many thousands of hours I spent on D2.

lowpoly staff is so lowpoly.
6 sided is round!? Still looks awesome though and the low poly may also work great for the top view but for the cutscenes i would love some CGI!

Remember, Diablo 1-2 was pretty heavy on the narrative but they just stood their and played a sound clip for 5 minutes.

one of the best cinematics ever -- and a lot thanks to the narrator
- the aggresive brute
