Just curious what tips you all could share to be able to push as many polys as possible. Right now I set the render to fast and sometimes use the decimation master plugin to chop down on polys.
When using the fast render or masking off pieces of the model isn't enough for this poor old thing, I scale down the model and zoom the document in. That's pretty much all I can do at that point.
You can go under preferences and do a multi threading test. This usually helps significantly. Also, you can change how much memory usage is allocated to zbrush. If you have 4 gigs, maybe you want to crank it up to use 3096. I'm not 100% on those numbers though.
Yeah, under Preferences>Mem Crank that shit...and then go into custom UI and save it to default or zB will reset it to 256 every time you restart.
Also, if hardware is an option, get RAM and whatever multicore you can afford, the more the better. As I understand it, your vid card is irrelevant to zB performance since it's all software render.
