stuff im working atm to re invigorize my portfolio. this is some of the work i have up on facebook however no textures yet just modeling practice and ideas . let me know if im headed in the right direction with my work..
All in all you should work on finishing up some stuff like that brick wall or the robotic arm. Or make some new stuff, the main point being: finish what you start.
Your "City Way" looks alright and could be salvaged with a better lighting setup and some more texture work.
You should also crack open a game editor or two to take a look at current gen game specs to get a good idea about triangle counts and texture sizes. Just saying because your wooden cart is pretty insane at 7152 tris...

i think posting screens directly from the application are fine. i just would delete the program specific buttons. i mean i just don't think it's necessary for any viewer to see the buttons and whatnot.
I love looking at the stuff on your start bar. XD Steam, Bitlord, Fallout, good stuff! :P But yes, I agree, including the HUD in all the screens of your work from the application itself is unnecessary.
