I always was interested in EVE out of their art style and what I saw in screenshots; though after reading up it kind of seemed more like a wall street sim in space.
I played it at E3....the framerate was bad and was really buggy and the animations weren't so hot. But I still want this game. I am just assuming it was a bad pre alpha build. This is a game I am still excited for.
I quite like the art direction and have been following it for a while. PS3 exclusive though isn't it? And I ain't got no PS3
They really should release it on PC. I mean Eve is on the PC so why are they limiting it to a different platform? A lot of Eve players are very dedicated PC gamers.

Because it is for a whole other crowd than the eve players :P
What they're doing is bringing people who are interested in the eve universe, but not the game itself, into that universe. These players are found in the untapped console market.
The console market is pretty heavily tapped by other shooters. PS3 players are less likely to value the connection to EVE than PC players. It's nice that they're putting it out on the PS3, but it should be on PC as well.
played the beta on the ps3 its actually really terrible both in game-play and graphics it actually looked like a ps2 game at some points, whats sad is that this was obviously made for the PC then Sony probably swooped in paid these guys a bunch of money to release it on the ps3.

I guess I'll have to stop playing eve as well.
Just so you know, I dont know how they'll connect Dust 514 with Eve online, but if they are to implement the entire game within the game, I'd say the graphics are sound, because Eve does run only one server only as far as I know.

Ccp never ever announced this for pc it was announced as a console shooter before it was ever shown, it's an obvious project to reach a market ccp has nothing in.

They're statistically connected, but graphically largely unrelated to eachother, any shortcomings in dust are shortcomings, he's correct about that.

All the UI and menus are horrible to navigate with a controller, but with a mouse is makes sense why they went with the designs they did.
again this is my opinion but i think this thing is dead in the water once it comes out.
I think CCP don't quite get that EVE players are literally the only demographic that will put up with something that's more user interface than game, and by trying to tack a console FPS onto the back of their UI they've backed themselves into a corner with this particular product.
If anyone's interested, the game you're looking for; a good F2P FPS MMO with minor RPG elements including the ability to increase your lvl, etc, is called Planetside 2.
So this looks like planetside 2 connected to the Eve online universe. Kinda fixes the lack of meta game and long term consequences issues that planetside 2 seems to have.

But seeing this, damn, I'm interested.
