It really isn't as bad as the article makes it, but still crappy that they are doing it. I am sure all of you are good enough users that you never install those extra toolbars or blindly click "Next" on installs. ¬_¬ Just a head's up.
i noticed this on installing digsby on my new machine, i just made sure i opted out of everything and haven't had any problems since. i do remember thinking it was an excessive amount of crap to wade through.
maybe someone can enlighten me - why do companies add these fucking terrible toolbars at every chance they can? ms, yahoo, even google. wtf? is it to get people to use the bar to search that specific site instead of other engines, or are there ads or something?
I saw one once and almost threw up it was so ugly, just taking up space.

From what I read on the Digsby blog they are trying to figure out a revenue model and this is the most recent method they are trying. I see where they are coming from, since they need to pay the bills but it still blows.
Personally I would rather see them just go ad based and maybe offer a "pro" version that's add free for a price or what have you.
