Huxley Beta, anyone playing?

I joined in there this weekend and was surprised to see it seemed like playing regular Unreal 3 deathmatch and team deathmatch. Other then the third person quest station type things, where you go out and kill X critters and come back.

The game is pretty and all but it's still deathmatch.. weird.. I guess it's more of a MMOFPS...

Looks pretty nice with graphics turned all the way up but I can play deathmatch for free.

Last I heard it's going to be a free to play with microtransactions.

Ahh that would explain my surprise then. Sure is pretty though plan on taking some more ref screenies.. My MMORPGFPS standards will now be lowered appropriately.

me and my friends were sooo excited for this when it was first announced. I played the first closed beta and i enjoyed it. But was REALLY laggy. not graphics lag, interweb lag. i have a decent connection and it would take 3 - 5 minutes to join a game, then once i was ingame it was really hard to play because the lag persisted. the single player quests played alright though.

yeah that's my experience too, seems the games are hosted locally, i saw the text saying "XXXX player is hosting" so your ping and lag would be up and down compared to how good a pc that person has which is kinda sucky way to do things.

yeah I was dissappointed when I read that its not a persistant world but rather ut3 with some rpg elements thrown in and a meeting place like guildwars. Im really really looking forward to an online persistant world fps rpg game looks like it wont be huxley though it is very pretty from what Ive seen.

I got in, like said before it is UT3 with rpg elements. I was kinda hoping for a planetside experience, but this is death match arena stuff. If that is your thing, then try it out.

I actually interned on the planetside team about a year ago, interesting experience . Shame we're still waiting for the "wow" of mmo FPS games. Planetside was the shit in its heyday though.
