Hellou I'm working on a short cinematic with some friends, and I thought I might aswell post it here even if its not strictly game-art, but yeah... here's a WIP of a robot head anyway ^^ Together with a test render of the first scene, but with borked UVs for the meshes, and some textured shot of the first scene. All of it is still very WIP, but more will come
wester: thanks man, glad to hear you like it. Well, it depends, you can cheat alot :P What you wont see, or wont see very much can be a bit sloppy UV-ed. Its been tough for me todo that, since I'm used to mapping everything more or less perfectly with the same texel value and no stretching. But yeah, much of it is unwrapped just like normal.

I've wanted to do this for awhile, so do you unwrap the hipoly's as if you'd unwrap anything? or is there some trick?
I think not knowing the scope or direction of this project makes it hard to make sense of. Is that robo-monster hungry for marine flesh??

Also, do you use a lot of procedural textures for the metals and stuff, or does everything have its own fancy map?
