Some loops don't effect the silhouette but I figured the extra few triangles would be worth it for better geometry distribution for zbrush sculpting and the normal map. I was thinking of reworking the face to give him a more frightening mouth.
you've got a lot of mpolies in the hands and head, that could better have been spent on large animating parts such as the shoulders, tail and elbow. I think 8 sided fingers is pretty much overkill. 5 maybe 6 sided for this kind of polycount is plenty.
have you tried putting the render to flat colours, and looking for jaggies in the silhouette?
