Apparently it was at first rated as nc-17, but after some quick editing they came up with the version shown in theatres. Dear lord i do not want to know what was in the NC-17 version.
maybe you are allowed to show thingies if they aren't real. the rotating schlong was shown as it was but when cohen ran around naked they blurred his. so maybe the rotating one was mechanic and that's why they were allowed to show it.
there were wankers in both borat and the hangover afaik
haha ... what?
i'm with vassago on this one. There was one HUGE wanker in borat. It also shows a chronic lack of imagination that he's just recycling these old bit-part characters from Da Ali G Show, which was bloody years ago now, and was shit then too. Come up with something new fercrissakes
My friend told me about this movie. I said, that I didn't want to see it because Borat was too gay for me (the fat guy rolling around naked etc.)
He's said: "yeah, then you definitely don't want to see this movie".
He said there are a couple of funny parts but it's basically gay porn.
Thanks, but No thanks!
Didn't particularly like Borat either, then again it wasn't my fave character either - no.1 was Ali G, no.2 was Bruno. Preferred the tv series to the movies big time, still watch them today infact, really funny shit, Cohen is a comic genius :poly142:
Saw a few clips from this latest movie and have to say it looks more promising than it's predecessors, lets face it this guy is nuts and he seems to pull it off flawlessly, can't wait to see it!
I saw it and didn't really like it. To compare the two, I definitely liked Borat more. To match the level of shock value Borat had (handing over a bag of shit, running naked into an elevator, belittling women to complete strangers, etc.), he really had to go further with Bruno. I think in Borat he could get away with just saying awkward things but in Bruno it's as if he tried to bring in more physical comedy but wouldn't fully commit to the character (like in the last big scene with Lutz) What would be considered "shocking" in this one just seemed really gimmicky to me.
The hair style bugs me. This Bruno almost seems like a completely different character from the Bruno that was in Da Ali G Show, based on looks alone. In the Ali G and Borat movies neither character changed appearance at all. Haven't seen the movie yet, but I probably will soon, Funkyzeit mit Bruno was always my favorite segment on the tv show.
I will forever have the sense of humor of a 14 year old, so I enjoyed it a ton. Love the scenes with Bruno and his Asian partner.
It's one of those movies that's best to to see in a packed theatre as it brings out some great reactions from the crowd. I feel the same way about the Jackass movies. Great in theatres, kind of boring on DVD. It's not the same without the collective cringing and gagging of an entire theatre.

it's still new for most yanks. some guys in the RAF showed me Ali G back in 2002 in turkey. loved it haha
I didn't really want to catch this in the theatres, but was dragged out to see it last week.
I laughed more watching this than I did with Borat. I use the term "laughed" quite loosely, as I chuckled more than anything else.
The homo-erotic context didn't bother me at all, like it seems to bother a good bunch of people here. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so I won't argue about it.
If its your type of humour, then you'll enjoy it, otherwise go watch Harry Potter... *sigh*

The movie is not for me that's all. I'm sure there are others out there that would agree.

it was somewhat entertaining. definitely enjoyed borat more (the character and the bits), but wow.

Saying that the film still had me laughing along and was great for an easy Sunday afternoon film to watch with the girlfriend.
The talking Urethra at the start was hilarious though!
