Just picked it up today. Haven't had a chance to get online with it yet, but damn this game is fun. Looks like I might be giving Street Fighter 4 a rest for awhile.
if they call themselves fighting game fans they better have noticed already. it's pretty damn awesome, and I think funner to play than SF4 some ways. It's pretty as hell, too. All of a sudden I'm not as sure about buying KOF12 as I once was.. if anyone wants to play, Sc00t420 is the 360 gamertag.
I was curious cause you guys seem to like this stuff so I watched the video - woah its mad, I really have no clue what was going on, it was all like super fast animation and sfx everywhere. just out of curiousity what is it that attracts players to this genre?
2D Fighters or Arch Sys fighting games? I first played GG back in 1997 and their games have always been fast and somewhat balanced. It's cool to see someone still do a 2D fighter and it look GOOD. Arch Sys has always given Capcom a run for their money in terms of look play and style. Unfortunaltly GG didn't get big here like in the Arcades overseas.
Yeah I'm planning on picking this up, although my heart is still set on King of Fighters XII. So this may take a back seat to both SF4 and KOFXII unless a solid community is built up around it. By the way has anyone tried this game with any of the fighting sticks? None of the reviews that I've read mention this and I was curious to hear how it controls with the (madcats / Hori) SF4 stick or the standard Hori sticks.
Playing it with the TE stick and absolutely loving it so far. I'm enjoying it far more than SF4. This is the real deal folks, an actual step forward for the genre, not a nostalgic retread. Get it!
I still haven't even picked up SF4 yet. :x I couldn't bear to play it on my Xbox without a stick. Actually I should get a stick, going to add it to my buy list. I also didn't want to get it without LIVE, but I have that now too. Hmmm...
I never got too heavily into Guilty Gear, but I was into a similar 2d fighter that is almost identical to GG in many ways (Melty Blood). I still played a fair bit of the different versions of GG. Will look into picking this one up. I'm glad it's not on PS2.

Extremely technical 2D fighting controls with rock-solid balance? Expertly drawn and animated 2D sprite work? (now in high resolutions) But for my money I would have to say...
