Spherical Harmonics

Heya

I am trying to make use of spherical harmonic maps is there another way for me to create them without having to use the turtle renderer??. As I only have a trial license of it and I would like to find another way to generate them if need be.

Vray can generate spherical iradience maps that can be ported thru various data formats. Not sure if its the same thing as what you need tho.

I was hoping I would be able to generate it with the main app such as Maya or Max without having to use a 3rd party renderer.
