3dSMax is being a dickhead

3DSMax 2009 64bit edition.
So, I am working on a new highpoly model inside of Max when all of a sudden, out of now where, this god damn mother fucker of a white dot shows up.
It's on every part of the plane mesh. The image meshes, not at all.
I cannot select it in any subobject mode.
The only way I have found to delete it, has been the Magicbox Trick: Making a new cube, convert it to Poly, then attach it to the different meshes. Doing this works.. for about a minute then out of nowhere the dot reappears.
"Adam it's just a dot, quit your whining!" I would! But the fucker is considered in ALL focus views. Select a poly, try and focus on it, and Max puts the poly AND the dot in view. GRr!!!

As far as what's going on, try what they suggest.. I've been having so many fucking issues with Max 2010 at work lately, it's annoy as hell.
Max 2009 has been a champ for me in general, but 2010 can kiss my ass.

Select your object > right click > object properties, uncheck trajectory.
OR
Select your object > Display Tab > Display Properties rollout > uncheck trajectory.
If you figure out how it manages to toggles on I'd love to know, its a mystery so far.
If it still pops up uncontrollably, it will show up where ever your pivot is, so you could move your pivot inside your object, but that won't help too much when you want to Z (zoom Extents All Selected), it will always include the trajectory path. If you still have trouble I (or someone else) can probably script up a quick replacement for zoom extents that includes killing the trajectory.

and adam get rid of all that new cube bollocks, we had too at work cos max was running like a bitch getting rid of it, suddenly means it runs a hundred million billion times better (may be slight exageration)
Yeah you just have trajectory turn on. Either in the object properties or the motion panel.
LOL good to know, max can be pretty sluggish, but I never thought about it being that thing. Didn't even realize I COULD turn it off.
seriously though Max 2010 drives me nuts
I also removed the view box and wheel shit from Max since it wasn't the only thing in this thread being a dickhead :poly118:
