I just graduated from VCU with two BFA's. One in Painting and Printmaking and the other in Kinetic Imaging. During my time at school I took some 3D classes but only one of professors was really that great. I am trying to focus more on character modeling and 3D animation. I am very familar with other programs like Adobe etc.. "After Effects". I think I can model fairly well. When rendering in Maya what are the best settings for detail? I been have trying to use a displacement from Mudbox to maya on a character. I can't seem to get it to work. Also can you have a bump map and a normal map on the same model? If anyone has any advice or some turtorials that would be great.
