pretty awesome, i remember seeing that model a while back and its cool to see it being broken down for people to learn from. ill probably pick this up soon, even though its XSI based, the concepts should be transferable.

I thought that this was originally suppose to include the texture process? Without that, this disc is almost identical to this (quite good BTW) or this. I know those two are different, but they are close enough for the skills learned. Not that having more availible knowlege is bad (it never is) but it seems they have covered the character design/sculpt/model stuff pretty well. Perhaps they removed the texture section because of this?? I would have loved to see Vitalys process for texturing, as I always find something new from watching others work. That said, I'll probably buy it anyway and see if I can find some ways to increase my speed in XSI.

this was announced in the same newsletter and might take care of the texturing - at least for the hard surface stuff.

Based on the preview it's highly max specific, and you can feel Neil's love for procedurals shine through as well.

The modeling package is XSI though, which is why I'm interested in it at the moment. I got the http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/542/, hard surface texturing dvd instead of Vitaly's. I had just bought a modeling dvd that didn't cover how to make textures so that's sort of like Vitaly's I guess.

Neils approach is helpful for anything decent 3d package.

Disappointing, this was originally supposed to cover texturing. Would've been a purchase, not so sure now.
