But seriously, how does one seriously make a film based on the game Asteroids. You could quite easily just make any space movie, and at any point in time there has to be a sequence where asteroids are being destroyed and its done!

Mortal kombat(no story until the movie), Street fighter(no story until the movie), and most all 80's games turned into movies saw to that sort of logic's death.

The new logic is well if people like playing X then they would love to watch a movie of it!

I beg to differ about the lack of story for Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
Sure, it isn't some greatly in-depth drawn out story that will entertain everyone, but each character had their own little story which was either told when you first selected the character, or completed the game with them.

Having said that, I guess you could say the same thing about Asteroids.

Mortal Combat and Street fighter had stories.... All the characters had a story behind them. What they really need to make is a Killer Instinct movie. LOL If Micheal Bay is a director it would be awesome... Explosions everywhere. He might blow up the earth this time, then the suit would tell him no you can't and he would cry until they let him do it....
