Okay, So I've actually thought about this quite a bit.
And Jesse, this is completely unrelated to you (You know I think you're the champ), you just gave a perfect thread to post about this...
I always tend to look at someone's Join date before I look at their post count. Someone who joined like 1 year ago and has like 1500+ comes off as a thread humper to me. Granted, it really does depend on the content of the posts too.
For example, Vig has like 5,000,000 posts, but his are generally thoughtful and provide lots of great info. While other's, like Pli... *Cough*...err, Some people, have lots of meaningless "OH SHIT,YEZ, MEZ Too Kthx" kinda posts...
So really, whats the big deal over post counts? I've been here since the start, and I still don't have 500 posts, same with people like Austin, or Shadows. Does a higher post count mean your contributing more?
I'd like to be educated a bit about this, so please give me your thoughts on the subject.
nah to me post count is a bit of a joke really, been on here a few years and Im always surprised how many posts Ive made. Could just be that Im a bit bored with my current job and need to get myself into the game industry. I always just think people with high postcounts are quite enjoying the community here and nothing more than that really, its not a reflection of thier status or quality of art : hey Ive got loads of posts but Ive got a long way to go before Im some kind of elite artist like some of the people with low amounts of posts.
