Came across this today:
The Ruins of Detroit
Shows what happens when you base an entire city around one industry. It looks like a post-apocalyptic movie set, which makes it totally awesome photo reference source. Reminds me of Chernobyl: Depressing, creepy, and really awe-inspiring at the same time.

This is what most of America (and some of Europe) will look like one day. All great empires fall to their knees when they think they can print money and inflate their way out of a problem. Our political leaders are a bunch of stooges on both the left & right.
The big boogieman national debt (a figure of how much currency is in the system) that everyone ignores will raise its ugly head soon.
You all thought $4 / gallon of gas was bad last year? Just wait.
Awesome ref, though.
Also, everyone you've ever loved will die. And there's no god.
Make sure your loot is gold/silver/ammo/canned goods.

There is some really great ref in there...I never imagined that Detroit had such beautiful buildings within it
Well aren't we Mr.Cheerful?
Maybe this will make you feel a little better...
last year we Brits were paying £1.20+ per litre for unleaded (more for diesel) so if my maths are correct and taking in to account the exchange rate for May-Aug last year we were paying £4.53 per U.S Gallon, so that would be around $8.90 per U.S Gallon. :P
See its not so bad after all!
Great Ref. BTW.
